I need to get this post out - cause im annoying myself that I havent posted in 2 weeks

Sorry in advance, im not sure how this post is going to turn out - so it could be a bit shit! But I can’t keep not writing.

And my thoughts are going to probably be a bit all over the place - but its 8:30pm on a Sunday and I’ve had two glasses of champagne (Gfs moms’ bday)

A lot has been going on with AI lately - so i’ve finally started using it, beyond just writing average SEO blog posts for my website.

I dont know where AI is headed, and my intelligence is limited and mostly falls on the left side of the bell curve, but here is something I do know - it’s not good enough to take away any Sales and Marketing jobs, that is for dam sure.

We will speak more about AI and Software in the next section, i’ll also highlight how you can make the most of it - these next two paragraphs just go to prove my point about how shit AI is at marketing, you can skip it and just go to the next section, i won’t be hurt

Oh you bastard, you were going to skip it and hurt my feelings!! read these next two paragraphs dammit πŸ˜›

This AI thing is so bad at writing, at coming up with creative marketing campaigns/ideas, at building relationships and networking - and I can really see this when I look at my Linkedin - and all the people that engage with my posts.

In the past month, 309 people have commented on my posts, and i’d say that 50% of that, was mostly AI generated poor AF comments - I just realised, I need to just block those people as they are probably a waste of time anyhow

Is AI going to replace you?

The answer is probably YES - the more important question is WHEN and HOW

The WHEN, is in the very distant future, so I wouldn’t pay much mind to it - it’s really the HOW that should be on our minds.

The How AI is going to replace you

  1. AI enabled software developers

This one is pretty self explanatory, but most of my clients are already hiring for devs that know how to use AI, and if they don’t, it’s not like they WONT get hired, but they really have decreased their chances

Get yourself a subscription to Claude - it’s honestly my favorite and I’ve gone done the rabbit hole this week

Yes its like 3000-4000 ZAR per year, but also yes, its a skill that can bring you 100X that per year.

How you can benefit

After you’ve gotten good at AI - two things will happen, you will work less and you will have more free time.

Enjoy working less, or use that extra time to - find side gigs, find more work at your company so you can get promoted faster, start your own AI dev agency.

  1. AI enabled software and technology companies

This is the one that’s really going to hit you in the gonads

A lot of companies are just going to be so AI enabled - for documentation, for testing, for deployments, for development, for design, for everything under the sun, that they are just going to, by definition, need a lot less people and unless you are from outer space, you are, by definition also part of β€œpeople”

How you can benefit

There are a lot fewer barriers to entry now - to build something, to start something, and demand for AI is so strong that you could, to my early point, start a dev agency or create a consulting gig where you advise companies for AI enablement.

  1. Small companies - 1 to 5 people making bank

So a lot of these points start to build on each other - AI makes for better people, better people make for better companies that can do more with less, and companies that can do more with less, leads to small companies that can really make bank!

I think there will be a lot of small companies, and that we won’t have as many MASSIVE organisations, where job safety and security and corporate ladders are all there for the taking.

This does mean your job is far less secure, but this does also mean, you can make your own job.

How you can benefit

As I already said, you can make your own job - yes I have a company, but also yes, its a job, so don’t look at business men and women as something special, it’s just another job with it’s own pros and cons.

Anyway

You can make your own job, you’re smart, you’re technical, and you can spot and identify friction - look for things that frustrate you, and try solve your own problems

You’re not the only person with this problem - you’ll learn how to find more people with that problem

And when you do, you’ll be able to capitalise on this and make some serious dough.

What am I doing with AI?

This is going to be short - and the last point, so thank you for your patience

Basically I am building an n8n automation that pulls data from a few places, stores this into a Supabase table, I then have Claude sit on top via an MCP Server - and I get claude to make me lists of data

Eg - i have a shit load of lead data (emails + job titles + company data) - I ask Claude to make me a list of companies that have both iOS and Android devs, and get me the CTO

I then get a list of CTOs that I know run companies that build native apps - I can now use this list to cold email those CTOs and give them an offer that is relevant to their businesses

Anyway, Claude MCP is dope AF - i know its basic bitch stuff that i’m doing but remember, i told you my IQ is on the left side of the bell curve

And i’m just getting started!

What are you doing with AI? Let me know!!

THATS A WRAP

This was a different kind of post - it was a long ass story, so I want to know what you think about it

Reply here and let me know - do you prefer these kinds of stories that then tie in advice? do you think i grew my balls or just acted emotionally? do you miss the old format? should I combine the old with the new? etc….

ANY HOW!

Let me know if you like this and as usual:
